Just a few years ago I made the tough decision to leave the corporate world and set up my own business. This left me with a tidy sum to reinvest but it certainly wasn’t enough to retire on so I got involved in a consultancy organisation but ended up losing a small fortune. I won’t bore you with the details but as a result I found myself back on the job market and was fortunate enough to land myself a management position in a small family run business. Fast forward to 2008 and crunch, the business could no longer afford me and here I was over 40 years old, out of work and wondering what am I going to do next.
